Samsung President of Mobile Communications J.K. Shin confirmed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that his company is set to release a tablet computer named the Galaxy Tab no later than Q3 2010.
Responding to a question on Samsung’s plans to compete with the Apple iPad, Shin said:
“I can also say that we are planning to launch a tablet computer, named Galaxy Tab, no later than in the third quarter of this year.”
Shin did not offer further details, including whether the device would run on the new Samsung smartphone OS, Bada.
However, specs for the Galaxy Tab leaked earlier in the week, suggesting the device would be an Android tablet computer.
