DAP Technologies has announced its M4000 rugged mobile tablet.
The M4000 series runs Windows CE and has a 3.5-inch display, which is equivalent to the iPhone’s touchscreen. According to M4000, the small rugged tablet is able to survive drops from up to five feet while it is sealed to IP65.
“DAP’s M4000 series rugged computers give (paper-based) companies the opportunity to make the transition to a more efficient, computer-based system that reduces human error and boosts productivity without locking into technology that has a limited lifespan,” said Khalid Kidari, director of product management and marketing for DAP Technologies.
The device looks to harmonize itself alongside the M2000 series that started selling earlier in the year. An official press release from the company stated that the two “are intended to complement one another in warehouse environments.”
Specs for the M4000 include 128MB SDRAM, 1GB flash ROM standard, expandable SD, and a 256K 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen. Meanwhile, options are abundant for GPRS and Summit Radio wireless LAN 802.11b/g, alpha-numeric or alphabetical keyboard, upgradable 1D or 2D image scanners, GPS or RFID functionality and standard or high-capacity Li-ion battery packs.
