Evernote, the note-taking and syncing service, has released an app optimized for Android Honeycomb tablets.
Suited for the large tablet screen, the new Evernote displays notes in an organized grid fashion, where all of the controls line the left and top edges of the display. The upper-right corner houses a search button, which allows users to conduct simple keyword searches or advanced searches.
Android tablet owners can search their notes from the “Snippet View” on the homescreen, which identifies files with a picture or quick text, or examine their notes in more detail through a one-at-a-time view. Users can also plot their notes on a map to track where they left off and record audio or attach files to documents.
Updates were also made to Evernote for Android smartphones, including text editing and new formats, such as bold text, italics, underlined text and bullet points. A new large widget option, which shows previews of the most recent notes, is also available for the homescreens of all Android devices.
