Gateway Unveils New E-155C Tablet PC

Gateway unveiled today the new E-155C convertible notebook. This thin and lightweight Tablet PC lets users enjoy the benefits of both a digital pen and touch screen, similar to the HP tx1000 except the E-155C has Wacom. The E-155C has a 12-inch widescreen display and will sport a Core 2 Duo processor.

A few months back the E-155C was leaked on the Internet, but there weren’t many specs listed. As of today, Gateway has made the E-155C official, so there is no more wondering about what this little Tablet can do.

  • Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950

  • 12-inch WXGA TFT display
  • Wacom digital pen with digital eraser
  • Mobility center button gives customers one-touch access to mobility settings when used with Vista
  • Advanced security with optional Computrace Complete tracking software
  • Fixed CD-RW/DVD, DVD Burner and weightsaver options
  • Dimensions: 11.9”(W) x 9.9”(D) x 1.17”(H)
  • Weight: 4.5 pounds with 4-cell battery
  • 4-cell, 6-cell and 8-cell battery options

Besides all those features the E-155C will also have two USB ports, a 6-in-1 Media Card Reader, Type II PC Card Slot, microphone and headphone jacks and the users choice of either Windows XP Tablet PC Edition or Vista Premium as the operating system.

The E-155C will be marketed toward consumers, small businesses, state and local government and international customers. Another focus area is on the education field and students, since a growing number of universities are becoming Tablet friendly.
