An update to the Gmail app for Android brings enhancements and tweaks especially for Android Honeycomb OS (3.2) users.

According to Google, those with Honeycomb-running tablets will get the Android Ice Cream Sandwich experience with Gmail via:

  • Swipe to move between newer and older conversations
  • Tap your account to access Recent labels
  • Set custom notifications for individual labels
  • Sync last 30 days of messages so you can read and search messages faster both online and offline

For those using Android Froyo (2.2) or Android Gingerbread (2.3), users will get new labels API for third-party app developers and performance improvements.

The update is now live in the Google Play Store for free.
