Google Updates Gmail for iOS

Google has released an update to its Gmail app on iOS, for better integration between other Google apps and Gmail.

Now, Gmail users who click on Chrome, Google Maps and YouTube links within the Gmail app will be taken directly to those apps — assuming they’ve downloaded them to the devices — instead of to the services within a web browser. Users may elect to turn the new feature on or off.

The update also allows users to sign out of one account at a time, rather than all accounts at once. Gmail for iOS supports up to five individual Gmail accounts.

The Gmail app is available as a free download in Apple’s App store. It requires iOS 5.0 or later.
