Further details have emerged on what is expected to be the next tablet offered by HTC (and the first full-sized tablet from the company), including information on its processor and which version of Android to expect.
The HTC Flyer and EVO View 4G, HTC’s very first forays into the tablet market, have yet to be released, but a lot of eyes are still turning to the Puccini, which at this point is still in the shadows. Some recent information has shed some light on some aspects of the device, which is expected to arrive over the summer.
HTC Puccini Specs/Rumors
Between the most recent rush of information and what came out last week, we can expect the Puccini to feature a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor (same as the Flyer), a 10-inch screen with 1280 x 800 resolution, 4G capabilities on AT&T’s LTE network, and the latest version of Honeycomb, Android 3.01.
There’s also speculation that the Puccini would be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich at some point after release, but this is unsubstantiated. It’s also not entirely assured that the Puccini will feature HTC Scribe technology and support for pen input, but it’s generally expected. Also, the name “Puccini” is probably just a codename, and it is likely that it will feature more market-friendly moniker upon its anticipated June release.
