Huawei Device announced today their 7-inch MediaPad will ship preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the first quarter of 2012.
Huawei also unveiled its new MediaPad color series that will be available in three colors: shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink. The newest set of MediaPads will be among the first tablets on the market with Ice Cream Sandwich if they ship soon, after ASUS announced earlier this week that the Transformer Prime would be receiving its delicious update a few days early.
The original MediaPad, which was released in June 2011, was one of the world’s first 7-inch tablet to run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The existing versions of these tablets will receive ICS by the end of the first quarter as well.
Both MediaPads share the same specifications: a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a Qualcomm dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, and a microSD slot that allows up to 32GB of storage. The MediaPad will also feature a 5MP rear-facing camera, in addition to a 1.3MP front-facing shooter.
