ASUS has finally released the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS (4.0) update for the Eee Pad Transformer. The update will first be released in Taiwan, but will eventually be rolled out globally over the next couple days.
The Transformer will join the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime and the Wi-Fi Motorola Xoom as some of the devices that currently run ICS. New features on this update include the ability to create folders simply by stacking contacts or apps on top of each other, and a recent apps menu where users can manually stop any application that is currently running in the background.
There have been plenty improvements and tweaks to the OS in terms of performance. Ice Cream Sandwich still has a very swipe-centric design, with swipes to the side serving many purposes throughout different scenarios and apps. There are also notifications that are highly customizable.
