“Market watchers” reporting to DigiTimes claim Toshiba will announce a dual-screen tablet codenamed “GuideBook” in late June.
Not much is known other than the device will sport two 7-inch displays and Toshiba will design and manufacture the tablet in-house.
The company confirmed in April that it was working on at least two tablet devices to compete with the Apple iPad. If today’s report were true, then it would contradict earlier rumors that Compal Electronics would manufacture the Toshiba tablets. Those rumors also reported that the tablets would come in two models, one running the Google Android OS and the other based on Windows CE 7, with both featuring a 10-inch screen and Nvidia Tegra 2 processor.
