Corporate-owned Verizon retail stores are now unloading the last of their first generation iPad stocks, pricing them as low as $299.99 for the 16GB model. The 32GB model will set customers back $399.99, while the 64GB model is going for $499.99.
Rumor has it that with such low prices, retailers are burning through their stock pretty quickly, so availability is hit or miss. Also, it’s important that interested customers visit only corporate-owned retail stores, as independent Verizon stores are not participating in the offer.
Verizon isn’t the only carrier looking to offload its last-generation iPad units, as AT&T recently scaled back the pricing on its 3G-enabled units, as well. Last week, the wireless carrier began selling the 3G iPads from $429 to $629, depending on capacity, with its online store selling the 64GB model even cheaper, at $529.
