Leaked Images May Show Asus’ Next Windows 8.1 Tablet, the VivoTab Note 8
News has leaked that Asus may be introducing another Windows 8.1 tablet to the market, one that may prove to be competition for the Dell Venue 8 Pro. The specifications of the device have leaked out, as well as some blurry, low-resolution images of the purported device.
Rumor has it that the tablet will run the full version of Microsoft Windows 8.1, and will feature an 8-inch IPS display with a pixel density of 188 dpi, a 1.33GHz “Bay-Trail” Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage. It will also boast a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, if the reports are true.
Sources also note that the device will possibly feature compatibility with a Wacom stylus, which could put it into competition with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.
The entry-level device could start as low as $300, but whether it will be released before the new year is yet to be seen. Another possibility is that it could debut at January’s CES tradeshow.
