The folks at Boy Genius Report have stumbled onto a Verizon road map detailing the carrier’s plans for 2011 and 2012. While most of the info relates to smartphones, which are almost exclusively Android devices, a few tablets are listed, giving credence to earlier rumors regarding slates from Samsung and Motorola.
First up, the Samsung is working on a seven-inch Android tablet with a front-facing camera. This may be the Galaxy Tab that speculation suggests will be announced later this week.
Also, Motorola is working on a ten-inch Google Android tablet that sport a 1GHz or 1.3GHz processor and run Android 3.0, the so-called Google tablet OS. An announcement might come as early as December, as soon as Android 3.0 (codenamed Gingerbread) is ready for developers.
