Lenovo has begun taking pre-orders for the Miix 10, a mid-range tablet running Windows 8. This device will be released later this summer.
The Miix 10 is going to have a 1.80GHz Intel Atom Processor Z2760, and 2.0GB of RAM. It will include 64GB of solid-state memory for storage, plus a microSD memory card slot for additional capacity.
This tablet will offer Wi-Fi b/g/n as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Lenovo also plans to offer a version with 3G cellular-wireless data.
An optional add-on keyboard is going to be introduced for this tablet by Lenovo.
The Miix 10 will have a single front-facing 1.0 MP camera. This can be used to unlock the computer, plus Lenovo Motion Control will allow this webcam to be used as an input device – flip pages, rewind/forward music, change volume, and other simple commands with hand gestures.
Thanks to a micro HDMI-out port, users will be able to connect this tablet to an HD television or other monitor.
Lenovo says the Miix 10 is going to last 10 hrs on a single charge of its 6800 mAh Li-Polymer battery.
Overall, the device is going to be 10.4 x 6.8 x 0.4 inches, and weigh 1.3 lbs.
Lenovo is taking pre-orders for the Miix 10 on its website now. The company says these will begin shipping on August 28.
