It is going to have a 7-inch, 1280×800 touchscreen, and weigh it at just 0.54 lbs. (246g). The tablet will be 0.3 in. (7.9mm) thick.
The S5000 will run Google’s Android 4.2 operating system (Jelly Bean) on a 1.2 GHz quad-core Media Tek 8389 processor. Lenovo has not yet revealed how much storage this computer will come with.
Both Wi-Fi-only and 4G HSPA+ versions will be available.
It is going to come preloaded with custom Android apps from Lenovo that will allow users to conveniently share photos, videos, and documents, protect their device from malicious software, as well as backup and restore important data.
There will be a 5.0MP camera on the rear, and a 1.6MP webcam on the front. This tablet will sport a USB “On the Go” port for storage expansion or charging other devices.
Lenovo says the 3450mAh battery will be good for up to eight hours of non-stop Wi-Fi web browsing or six hours of HD video viewing.
The Lenovo S5000 tablet is scheduled to be introduced in 4Q 2013,but its maker has not said what geographical regions it is targeting.
A price has not yet been announced, but given its feature set this is likely to be a budget model.
