The Lenovo ThinkPad tablet is now available for pre-order for those in need of a business-minded Honeycomb slate. The ThinkPad tablet sports similar specs as many of the other Honeycomb tablets on the market, and includes a 10.1-inch display (1280 x 800) and a NVIDIA dual-core processor, in addition to an optional docking pen accessory and handwriting recognition app.
The ThinkPad Tablet comes in three configurations: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, all of which are Wi-Fi-only. They cost $499, $569, and $669 respectively. The ThinkPad ships without the N-trig active pen, but it can be included for an extra $30. Also available is a keyboard leather folio for an additional $100. Like the Toshiba Thrive, the ThinkPad tablet includes a full sized USB port.
The ThinkPad Tablet is not the first Android tablet to support pen input, but it is the first Honeycomb tablet with pen support. It’s also the first Android tablet to ship with a handwriting recognition app and a pen dock on the device. Like the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 Honeycomb tablet, the ThinkPad tablet also supports Netflix.
The tablet is expected to ship later in August.
