The device reveals continue as we inch ever closer to the release of Windows 8, with today’s coming from Lenovo, which recently showed off the ThinkPad Tablet 2 at a PepCom event. Now more information is available on this upcoming device.
Running the Pro version of Microsoft’s next-gen operating system, the 10.1-inch ThinkPad Tablet 2 will run customers $800 with the inclusion of a keyboard and stylus. There are other accessories like a dock with additional ports, but no word on their pricing yet.
Presumably buying the tablet without the keyboard will lower the price, but such a price point was not specified.
The type of processor inside the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is also currently undisclosed, though it is rumored to be Intel’s Clover Trail, clocking in at 1.8 GHz. Other features are going to include a 1366 x 768 IPS display, 4G LTE from AT&T, NFC, USB ports, and a 10-hour battery life. As far as cameras go, the device will have a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing shooter.
Lenovo is saying that the ThinkPad Tablet 2 will be released on October 26, which is the official release date of Windows 8.
