LogMeIn App Update Brings Photo and Video Control

Apple iOS device owners will now be able to copy and paste videos and photos stored on their PCs and Macs directly through their iPad or iPhone without having to synch devices, as part of a new update to LogMeIn Ignition, which is now available.

For details on how this functionality works, check out this LogMeIn video:

In addition, users will now be able to attach video and photo files in emails sent through LogMeIn Ignition.

LogMeIn Ignition, a productivity app that combines the ability to view, access and control a PC or Mac from the iPad or iPhone, can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for a one-time charge of $29.99, with free updates for existing Ignition owners.

LogMeIn Ignition will come pre-loaded on the Toshiba Thrive tablet. Thrive owners will be given a 45-day free trial of the app, before having the option of purchasing it for a flat rate of $24.99. Providing access to computer files, programs and applications from anywhere with a 3G or Wi-Fi connection, LogMeIn offers ease to its customers. Typically TabletPCReview scoffs at bloatware, however we are fans of the LogMeIn app.

LogMeIn is not the only remote desktop app available for the iPad, as GoToMyPC is another option for consumers. However, as can be read in this June post from TabletPCReview, LogMeIn is debated as being the less expensive, more efficient choice.
