According to the latest rumor, the Microsoft Office app for the Apple iPad will be released to the public on November 10.
A few months ago, we reported that The Daily had a hands-on with the app and that it was sent to Apple for approval. Microsoft later denied these reports claiming photos of an iPad running Microsoft Office were not of a real product.
More recently, rumors surfaced that Microsoft would not only release an Office suite app for the iPad, they would also release an app for Android tablets.
That being said, the folks at The Daily learned that the Microsoft Office Mobile development team finished work on the project in April, followed thereafter by the design team. A usability team now has the app and is working on what The Daily calls “Metro compliance,” in regards to the Microsoft’s new UI style. The app should head to Apple and presumably Google, if the earlier rumors are true, for approval once the usability team finishes.
