Microsoft Releases Experience Pack for Tablet PC

In an effort to attract more consumers to consider the Tablet PC platform, Microsoft is offering a new free download free for all Tablet PC users. Rather than just releasing a small tool, fix or utility – it appears that on this occasion, Microsoft has really delivered.  This full-featured ensemble packs a load of functionality, utility and just plain fun for the Tablet PC user all for free!

The following 6 featured products are available for installation from the free Experience Pack for Tablet PC:

1.  Ink Desktop

“…you can write down notes directly on your desktop for quick and easy access, like a phone number, address, or top priorities for the day.”

2.  Snipping Tool

“…allows you to select and capture a portion of your screen part of a Web site, document, or application. Then add handwritten comments, and save or send it in an e-mail message.”

3.  Ink Art

“…simulates an artist’s toolset. Choose from different textured canvases, paint brushes, chalks, crayons, and more. Draw or paint freehand or use a digital picture as tracing paper to create a professional-looking painting.”

4.  Ink Crossword

“…is a must for puzzle fans and those who simply enjoy taking a break from their normal routine to solve a minor challenge. Solve any of the 12 puzzles that come with Ink Crossword…”

5.  Media Transfer

“Queue up your favorite music, movies, and digital photo albums and copy them over a wired or wireless network. Then off you go, fully stocked with entertainment.”

6.  The Energy Blue Theme Pack

“includes a Windows Media Player skin that’s customized for the Tablet PC, with knobs and buttons that are easy to control with a pen. It also includes new wallpaper, and energizes the colors used on your Start menu, application windows, and toolbars.”

(While at CES in Las Vegas, we had a chance to see this special revamped edition of Windows Media Player and I will say this, Wow!)

All in all we highly recommend that Tablet PC users download the Experience Pack and especially take advantage of the Ink Desktop, Media Transfer and Windows Media Player capabilities.  The other features will suit some users more than others, depending on interest, but are definately work consideration as well.

We will offer our own review of the Experience Pack, but in the meanwhile we would love to here commentary from readers, so please feel free to post feedback!
