Microsoft has announced a software update for Surface Pro owners that will address issues regarding the Type Cover 2 and Touch Cover 2. This is supposed to solve problems users have reported problems regarding the use of the second-generation covers with the original Surface Pro, including ones with trackpad performance..
Yet while the software update is good news for owners of the original Surface Pro, users of the more recent Surface Pro 2 are still left without any information from Microsoft on an update for their devices.
Many Surface 2 users experienced error codes, odd behavior in sleep mode, and dramatic decreases in the battery life on their devices as a result of a software update released last December.
According to Mary Jo Foley at ZDnet, sources have stated that the update for Surface Pro 2 users is still under development, with no word on its release date. Foley quotes a Microsoft spokesperson as stating, “Our customers’ experiences are very important to us and we are working hard to release an update package as soon as possible.”
The download for the Surface Pro should be available now, according to Microsoft. Users will be able to find this download in the Windows Update application.
