Most notably, according to @MSFTnerd, Microsoft was tied to the announcement of Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip, which sources say will ship in the forthcoming Surface 3, the third from the company to run Windows RT. The table will allegedly house a Denver processor, which is the name for the 64-bit version of the Tegra K1.
The Surface Pro 3 is expected to use an Intel processsor.
Third of Four for 2014
Microsoft is expected to release the Surface 3 near the end of 2014, with the LTE-equipped Surface 2 and rumored Surface Mini supposedly to precede the release of the updated Windows Surface tablet. The insider also mentioned that the rumored “Surface notebook” has been put on hold by the company at this time.
The Surface Pro 3 will almost certainly launch at about this same time.
Microsoft has not confirmed the rumors as of yet, but the company has mentioned different aspect ratios and sizes of the Surface tablets, alluding to the possibility of a Surface Mini.
