MobileDemand has formed a partnership with California-based Seiko Instruments to provide customers with a smooth way to print receipts and labels from the convenience of a tablet.
All MobileDemand products — the xTablet T7000, T8700 and C1200 tablet PC systems have been certified on both the Seiko Instruments 2-inch DPU-S245 receipt printer and the 4-inch DPU-S445 receipt and label printer.
The partnership could provide customers, ISVs and resellers in transportation, manufacturing, food and beverage distribution, military and other public safety agencies with optimized rugged mobile computing and printing solutions, according to the company.
The xTablets are MIL-STD 810G compliant and feature Windows 7 OS, an Intel processor, a high capacity battery, and have options of a pen-stylus, a numeric keypad, or a full QWERTY keyboard. They also include an all-light display, a colored camera, and an optional bar code scanner or credit card reader. The tablets are WLAN and WWAN compatible and provide GPS on some models.
Seiko Instruments is a rugged printer manufacturer, known for the DPU-S series. The DPU-S series are rated for a minimum of 50 km total printing, or approximately 328,000 six-inch printouts.
