RIM certainly hasn’t been shy about touting the BlackBerry PlayBook’s impressive spec sheet, but this week we learned a few additional details about the BlackBerry tablet.
Just like the iPad, the BlackBerry PlayBook will be available with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of Flash storage. In addition, it will sport a 5300 mAHr battery.
The information was revealed by RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie during the GITEX showcase in Dubai.
While the exact battery life is possible to discern without detailed knowledge of the PlayBook innards, the tablet should retain the lengthy battery life for which BlackBerry smartphones are known. Keep in mind, that a seven-inch screen requires less power than a 9.7-inch screen, which is the display size found on the iPad. It’s reasonable to suggest the PlayBook will have battery life approaching, if not surpassing, the iPad’s impressive performance.
