Three supposed iPad 3 parts were assembled, perhaps confirming earlier spec leaks.
The most notable part obtained by iLab Factory included an LCD panel from Sharp. The other parts include a back plate with the Apple logo and a 30-pin dock connector. According to iLab Factory, the back plate was slightly thicker than the one on the iPad 2, but is the same size, allowing it to fit a 9.7-inch display.
The plate also has a different screw alignment from the iPad 2, but fits perfectly with the alleged iPad 3 LCD panel that was acquired. Reports say that this panel is will be the new high-resolution Retina Display that the iPad 3 is rumored to have.
Aside from the changes, the assembled parts also showed that the alleged iPad 3’s camera mount is different than the mount found on the iPad 2. The size of the holes is similar, but the mount itself was different on the back side.
