Since info first leaked on the Android tablet earlier this summer, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has been the subject of much specualtion and many rumors. And this weekend some more details emerged on the potential iPad Killer, this time from across the pond.
The firmware, dated August 2010, is apparently for the European-model tablet, called the P1000 Galaxy Tab, which will run Android 2.2. According to the site, the firmware reveals the following Galaxy Tab specs:
- 800 x 480 pixel screen resolution
- 2048 x 1536 camera and camcorder resolution (roughly 3.2 megapixels)
- 240 x 320 front camera resolution (roughly 3.2 megapixels)
- 1.0GHz S5PC110 ARM processor
In other European Galaxy Tab news, a tipster alerted Engadget to the fact that Vodafone UK now apparently has a “Samsung Galaxy Tablet” listed on its system admist the European carrier’s BlackBerry offerings.
Nothing was revealed outside of the listing, but with all signs pointing to an IFA reveal in Berlin next month, it looks like Europe could be the launching pad for the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
