The biggest issue with the Droid Xyboard is its price. Both on and off contract, it’s too expensive, especially when tied to a two-year Verizon LTE data plan. Motorola must have been paying attention to those complaints as it has leaked Xyboard Wi-Fi models, no doubt before an official unveiling at CES 2012.
Both the 16GB Motorola Xyboard 10.1 and 8.2 will be available for $500 and $400, respectively, while the 32GB models will run $100 more. In an interesting side note, it seems Motorola has dumped the Droid moniker as it is only available for Verizon products.
The Xyboards are available for preorder now and will be shipping the week of 1/18.
