Honeycomb is Netflix free no more as the popular video streaming service is now available for all Google-sanctioned devices running Android version 3.0 and higher. It’s a free download in the Android Market. The Netflix update includes every tablet from the Xoom to the recently-announced SpringBoard.
Netflix has been notably absent from Honeycomb, thanks in part to DRM protection issues. The Lenovo IdeaPad K1 was the first to ship with the app when the tablet came out this summer. Tablets running Gingerbread (Android version 2.3) were granted Netflix access earlier this year.
Netflix fills a large hole in the Honeycomb app catalog, however, early reports indicate the app has not been optimized for large tablet screens. TabletPCReview is actively exploring the issue and will have a full review of the app later this week.
