Netflix has released a full redesigned user interface for Android tablets that is meant to improve the way users browse and stream content, according to the company.
Noting that the video streaming service has seen a “threefold increase” in the last 12 months in how long members watch on their tablets, Netflix chief product officer, Neil Hunt, went on to boast of the significant improvements in browsing and searching the new UI offers.
The new look provides multiple rows of titles, sorted by categories, with larger artwork to scroll through. The most impressive feature that Netflix touts of its latest app is the “Continue Watching” strip, which is meant to make juggling multiple shows and movies easier.
The revamped app is available now to all Android devices, according to Netflix, and can be found in the Android Market. That means all you new Kindle Fire owners out there can watch your favorite movies and TV shows on your new gadget, as botht the Fire and NOOK Tablet will be getting the same update.
Netflix promised an iOS version will be out in the upcoming weeks.
