Thanks to one of our forum members, thewhalepimp, posts we uncovered Gateway’s newest Tablet PC, the 295 Series. That’s right Gateway is releasing another Tablet PC, which is scheduled to be available in July. From the looks of it though the 295 Series it targeted toward the education sector just like the E-155C Tablet.
Our forum friend explains that the information came from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), a school they will be attending that requires students to own a Tablet PC. The school even sent along a Tablet PC comparison chart, so students could decide which Tablet would work best for them and the 14" 295 Series is listed.
The University of South Dakota is also using this Gateway Tablet for their nursing program. Under their spec sheet the Tablet is being called the E-295M. Overall it sounds like it will be a nice Tablet, especially if you are looking for a 14" screen.
Some specs of the 295 Series:
- Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8GHz or T7300 2GHz processor
- 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
- 60GB-100GB hard drive
- Integrated Intel GMA x3100 graphics
- 14" WXGA TFT Active Matrix display (1280×768)
- Wacom and touchscreen capabilities
- Standard 8-cell battery
According to these spec sheets Gateway’s 295 Series will be selling for around $1,700. There is no word on when or if it will be available to the general public, but I am sure Gateway will sell it directly on their website. As for the IMSA students they will be able to order the 295 Series starting June 29th. We will keep you updated as new information rolls in.
