New Image of Averatec’s $1,300 Convertible Tablet PC Surfaces

A few weeks ago we happily reported the expected release of a Tablet PC from Averatec.  With all the excitement surrounding Averatec’s recent Sub-Notebook models priced at up to $1,000 LESS than models with comparable features, we could only rejoice in hearing that the company was expected to offer a Convertible Tablet PC at an incredibly competative price point.  (that story:

Well we now have an official image of this model and a basic description straight from Averatec:

Looks pretty spiffy!  This model will most likely include the Magnesium alloy housing that is found on its sub-notebook siblings.  Averatec’s suggested retail price is $1,349 which is significantly less that any Convertible Tablet PC on the market.  It is also a safe bet that in the tradition of past marketing by Averatec, a rebate will be available to sweeten the deal.  This is not only an exciting opportunity for those looking to purchase a quality device at a palatable price, but is sure to mark the beginning of a price drop from other manufacturers.  Please check back here at for further updates regarding availability of this new model.
