Apple Files Touchscreen Patent That Could Relate to Tablet Mac

Every time we think we’ve finally put our lust for a Mac Tablet behind us, another rumor or patent filing surfaces to stoke the fires. The US Patent & Trademark office published a new (well filed in 2005) Apple patent for ‘mechanical overlay’ technology for touch sensing devices. Wireless Power May Become a Reality Sooner Than We Think

We’ve cut the mouse cord, the keyboard cord, and the network cable, but until now have been pretty much stuck with the ever present power cord taunting our wireless ambitions. But now researchers at MIT have outlined a relatively simple system that could deliver power to our myriad electronic devices sans cable. The system could theoretically transfer power over three to five meters allowing you to wander around your flat with a steady power supply for your Tablet PC. Read more…
