Fujitsu Introduces New Tablet PCs
Fujitsu has been keeping busy these days working on some new Tablet PC models. Of course, these Tablets are in Japan for now, but hopefully we will see them soon enough. The P70WN and P50WN were recently released, so not all the specs are out yet.
Supposedly there isn’t much of a difference between these two lightweight Tablets except for their processors. The P70WN will have a Core Solo U1400 processor and the P50WN will have a Celeron M443 processor.
Both models weigh in at 2.2 pounds and have 8.9-inch touchscreens with a 1280×768 resolution. They will also sport between 60GB and 80GB hard drives. Like I said earlier though, there is no word on pricing or on when these Fujitsu Tablets will be made available.
Asustek to Start Manufacturing Intel Classmate PC, Produce New Dell Notebooks
According to site DigiTimes.com Asustek will be manufacturing some new Dell notebooks that will hit the market in June. They will be producing 120,000 of these notebooks targeted toward the back to school and holiday season.
In the same article DigiTimes reports that Asustek will be rebranding the Classmate PC, an Intel competitor to the OLPC laptop for 3rd world countries, and selling them to consumers in modernized countries. Why consumers will want these laptops, is a good question, so I guess we will have to wait and see.
The Classmate PC will have a 7-inch LCD panel and solid state disk (flash memory based) with storage space ranging from 1GB to 40GB. Prices will go from $199 – $549 based on hard drive size. There’s no word on what brand Asustek will sell these under, but the article says they should be available in the second half of 2007.
