Warner Crocker Unique Perspective on the Thinkpad X60

GottaBeMobile has an interesting take on the new Lenovo Thinkpad X60 from Warner Crocker. Warner is a Tablet Pc enthuiast and theatre director and provides a real life use evaluation of the X60. Among his observations, Warner found the X60 battery lasted through an 8 hour rehearsal day and that the screen was a "vast improvement" over the Toshiba M200 especially under the oftenharsh lighting conditions of the theatre. A former member of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile PC User Experience development team (part of the Longhorn and Tablet PC Group) has fired off some pretty scathing criticism of Microsoft’s convoluted hierarchy and development methodology. Among his claims is that if could often take a year for developers to write a simple feature that should only take a week. It’s not hard to believe that a behemoth like Microsoft could conceivably have such problems and it’s sad to think what the Tablet PC could be in the hands of a lean and hungry development team unfettered by Microsoft beauracracy.
