John Kheit over at Macobserver.com has put together an interesting piece on the history and future of the user interface. The current UI that we all know and love (and often times hate) with it’s desktop metaphor and windows and buttons has grown stale over the years, but John sees some interesting development just over the horizon. Where’s the Ideal (and Realistic) Price Point for the UMPC

How much are you willing to pay for the “ideal” lifestyle PC? $300? $500? Price is no object? According to Bill Mitchell, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Mobile Platforms Division, the sweet spot is supposedly $500. So why do current UMPCs start at over $800? Standard in Sketching for the Real Estate Valuation Market Hits Version 3

Apex Software recently released the third version of their MobileSketch software for Tablet PCs. Apex Software develops applications for the real estate valuation market and for other mobile professionals such as insurance adjustors. MobileSketch lets mobile professionals quickly and easily draw sketches in the field. “Our goal was to eliminate the need for the clipboard,” said Randall H.
