Panasonic will be joining the tiny tablet market later this week with the introduction of a new rugged mini tablet to the Toughbook line. The Tablet PC will run on Intel’s Centrino Atom platform and have a 5.6-inch touchscreen display.
From the looks of it, the tiny tablet would be perfect for job sites.

The rugged Toughbook also sports a compact QWERTY keyboard with a number pad in the center, a variety of ports that have rubber covers to protect the it from water and dirt.
This tiny tablet can withstand drops and being wet, pretty much anything you throw at it, the Toughbook will withstand.
At this time the full spec sheet is not known or the ship dates, but Panasonic is supposed to release this information and pricing Wednesday.
So stay tuned with us for the latest information when Panasonic makes this release public on Wednesday. I am curious to see how well this tiny Toughbook will do against competition like Fujitsu’s U810.
