Plastic Logic has delayed the release of its QUE ProReader and cancelled all preorders. Back in April, the company announced it would ship the eBook reader on June 24th, but in an email sent to those who preordered the device, claimed they have indefinitely pushed back release and that “delaying the device a bit longer will result in a better product.”
The business-friendly QUE proReader turned heads at CES with its large display (8.5 x 11 inches, the same as a sheet of standard paper), Microsoft Office document support and high price. The QUE ProREader website currently lists two models: a 4GB unit with WiFi priced at $650 and an 8GB unit with WiFi and 3G priced at $800.
Last month, a company rep claimed that Plastic Logic will have a color eInk display in mass production by 2012.
