The long awaited update to Quickoffice HD is finally here, bringing editing capabilities with it.
HP TouchPad owners are now able to format text in Word documents, in addition to enabling cell and function editing in Excel spreadsheets. The new formatting options include changing font type, color, size, underlining, italics and bold in Word. Users are also able to format cells and use functions in Excel thanks to the standard software update.
The free upgrade also includes many performance and multitasking enhancements, according to HP. Quickoffice HD can work with a variety of user cloud storage accounts, such as box.net, Dropbox, MobileMe and Google Docs, so users can access their information at all times. Owners of the webOS slate can access the update via the webOS App Catalog.
The TouchPad may be dead but consumers can’t seem to get enough of the webOS tablet, especially since HP dropped the price to $100. Also, HP has recently offered six free apps for the tablet, with more to come next month. Those that missed the chance to grab a $100 TouchPad may be in luck as rumors indicate HP is release more inventory to retailers.
