Best Buy CTO Robert Stephens took to Twitter and revealed a RocketFish-branded tablet, tweeting two photos of the device he referred to as a “proto,” short for prototype.

Stephens did not reveal any specs on the device, only that the pictures displayed the form factor. However, last month Stephens tweeted the following, revealing “the tablet” would run the Google Android OS:

The tablet has a front facing camera. Let’s hone [sic] it makes it into the final design. Would likely use Fring for video chats. Runs Froyo 2.2

The photos are low resolution and don’t reveal much. The tablet looks approximately seven to nine inches diagonally with four buttons on the upper-right side, and what appears to be a front-facing camera. On the bottom, there appears a mini-USB port and two jacks, perhaps for charging and headphones. Crunchgear claims the device closely resembles leaked pics of the on-again/off-again HP slate.

RocketFish is a BestBuy exclusive brand typically attached to cables and mobile accessories.
