At TabletPCReview, we’ve long maintained Google Android 3.0, codenamed Gingerbread, will be the Android tablet OS. And it seems each Google Android tablet delay supports our claims. Now, news out of the Taiwan’s DigiTimes provides another hook for us to hang our Gingerbread hat.acer

The perpetual rumormonger, citing no sources, is claiming Acer will delay their ARM-based tablet, pushing it back from a Q4 release to Q1, 2011. DigiTimes also claims that Acer’s Windows 7 Tablet PC is expected to launch later this year. In addition, Acer will release a six-inch grayscale eReader and seven-inch color eBook reader at the end of 2010.

Unconfirmed reports indicate Android 3.0 will support larger displays and tablet-specific hardware requirements, including at least a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. In addition, it will feature a new user interface that is more tablet friendly. Insiders expect Android 3.0 to be available this fall.
