Weeks after it made its unofficial debut on stage with Android Engineer Andy Rubin, and just days before it’s official unveiling at CES 2011, the Motorola Honeycomb tablet may have a name: the Motorola Droid XOOM.

This news follows reports earlier in December that indicated Motorola had filed a near-global trademark on the term “XOOM.” Now, the Android-centric blog Droid-Life is claiming inside sources have confirmed that XOOM is the final name.

The report also revealed the Motorola Droid XOOM will not feature an LTE radio, meaning it won’t be the first 4G tablet.

Both Sprint and T-Mobile have confirmed that they will be releasing 4G tablets on their respective networks in 2011.
