Everyone else is getting into the Android tablet game, why not HTC, a mobile maker known for its Android smartphones?
Once again, an unconfirmed report has surfaced on the DigiTimes, the source of most Android tablet rumors. This time, the rumormongers are citing news from “Taiwanese component makers” that HTC is leveraging its relationship with Google and the telecomm companies to create an Android 3.0 tablet set for a Q1, 2011 release.
There was no indication on the tablet size or additional specs.
As with any Android tablet rumor involving a notebook or smartphone maker, this one is not hard to believe. The HTC EVO 4G sports a large 4.3-inch screen, and it has many features that could translate well in a tablet device, including a front-facing camera for video calls, a feature rumors suggest Apple is rushing to include on the next-generation iPad.
