Samsung will debut the Galaxy Tab Android tablet computer at the IFA show in Germany next month according to the JoongAng Daily. The Korean news outlet cites a “high ranking official” as claiming, “We will also showcase our tablet PC for the first time officially,” at IFA.
Last week, rumors swirled that Samsung would unveil the Galaxy Tab on August 11th, a date which Samsung is holding a press conference in New York City, promising “new products and announcements.” However, that press conference could be for the new Epic 4G smartphone, new interchangeable lens cameras, or even a series of 3D HDTVs.
The Galaxy Tab has been the subject of many leaks and much speculation. Reuters reported last week that Samsung will definitely ship the Google Android tablet in Q3, which ends in September. As for specs, most leaks indicate a seven-inch AMOLED screen, 1.2 GHz A8 processor, 16GB of internal memory and perhaps even cellular capabilities, just like the Dell Streak.
The IFA tradeshow takes place in Berlin and runs September 3-8. It is one of the world’s largest consumer technology product showcases.
