Seamless’ S-XGen officially made its debut at CES. S-XGen’s ten-finger keyboard and eight hour battery life make it the first practical UMPC for real all day power computing. Even though we have heard about the S-XGen for awhile, now you can actually get your hands on one.
The S-XGen will put an end to "dumb thumb" typing and battery power panic due to its unique design. It was created for serious business users who need convenient all day access to powerful computing capabilities, but are frustrated with lugging and juggling multiple devices that provide only two or three hours of on-the-go power.
Since the S-XGen is a handheld device it eliminates the need for a separate laptop, cellular phone, Tablet PC and PDA. The S-XGen comes standard with WiFi, Bluetooth and tri-band cellular wireless technology as well as Ethernet connectivity. It has USB and RJ45 input options, a 520 MHz processor and the base unit includes 256MB of RAM and a 20GB hard drive. The S-XGen comes with Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 and is ready to run Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, which is included.
It also comes with a 4-inch TFT 470 x 280 resolution monitor / touch screen, a built-in 280 pixel web video camera and functionality buttons for gaming applications, camera and computing. All of these features are packed into this small unit weighing only 14 oz. The S-XGen is available now if you are willing to pay the $1,400 price tag.
