Update: Samsung denies the report. Here is the official line: “The US version of 10.1 tablet will still have a dual-core CPU and it’s still shipping on May 13th, with pre-orders starting on May 4th.”
Rumor has it that Samsung is pushing back Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 launch in order to outfit the Android tablet with a quad-core processor.
Also, the Samsung Espresso tablet referenced in French Samsung internal documents may actually be the new quad-core Tab 2 10.1.
This news comes on the heels of a rumor indicating Samsung is doing the same with the Galaxy Note 10.1. Both the Note 10.1 and Tab 2 10.1 were announced at Mobile World Congress in February sporting dual-core chipsets.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch will retain its dual-core processor and is scheduled to ship this month. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 was scheduled for a May release originally.
We were able to get a hands-on preview with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona.
