Verizon has become the first U.S. carrier to offer its customers an LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. This 4G-enabled version is priced at $279 with a new two-year contract or for $379 sans contract.
The Samsung device, which first launched in the U.S. in a WiFi-only version this spring, features an 8-inch display with 1280×800 resolution, and 16GB internal storage that’s expandable to 64GB via microSD card. It runs Google Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and includes a Multi-User mode, designed for families sharing the tablet.
There is currently no word on when U.S. carriers besides Verizon will offer the Tab 4 8.0 LTE, but AT&T recently introduced an LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. The Tab 4 10.1 is priced at $479.99 for AT&T customers.
