Samsung may be thinking twice about not bringing the Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update to its original Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S smartphone, following an outcry by mostly Galaxy S owners that felt jilted by the company.
According to the Korean news site ‘ajnews’, Samsung is reviewing the feasibility of bringing ICS to the Gingerbread-toting hardware, though they reiterated the technical difficulties brought on by the aging hardware. According to Samsung, both devices lack adequate RAM and ROM to run both Google ICS 4.0 and the Samsung TouchWiz custom user interface.
Samsung has confirmed that its newer tablets, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.7, and Tab 7.0 Plus will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich in 2012.
