Samsung has decided it’s time to get into retail. However, the company isn’t looking to open its own set of stores like Apple. Instead, the mobile manufacturer is partnering with Best Buy to create the Samsung Experience Store.
Samsung will look to open 1,400 of these new shops within existing Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile specialty retailers. The stores will offer a wide array of mobile products including smartphones, tablets, laptops, connected cameras, and assorted accessories. The Samsung shops will be fairly modest in size (varying on the size of the parent store), with the largest Experience Stores being roughly around 460 square feet.
While Samsung has taken a different approach than its competitor Apple, the concept seems the same. The Samsung Experience Store will serve as a one-stop destination, where users will be able to learn about, test, and purchase a plethora of the manufacture’s mobile products.
Select Best Buys will also offer a Samsung Smart Service, staffed with dedicated Samsung Experience Consultants and Best Buy blue shirt sales associates to help inform customers and even help with carrier activations.
The first batch of Samsung Stores are expected to show up around the end of April. By May, 900 Best Buy retailers are expected to be outfitted with a Samsung Experience Store, with the remaining stores launching by early summer.
