A new report claims that Samsung is planning to launch an 11.6-inch Android tablet, with a whopping screen resolution, next year.
Reportedly, the super thin tablet will sport a 2560 x 1600 resolution, with an aspect ratio 16:10, and it will also run Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. The new Samsung tablet will be similar in size the Galaxy Tab 10.1, but will have a larger screen thanks to a thinner bezel. The tablet will supposedly pack a 2GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 CPU and will feature Android Beam for easy syncing of media with a Galaxy Nexus, as well as a special wireless docking mode for gaming on HDTVs.
We will most likely get our first glimpse of this slate at Mobile World Congress in February. The report also shed some light on Apple’s new A6 CPU, citing that it will be very similar to the Samsung CPU, which is a dual-core Cortex A15 chip.
A high-resolution tablet like this could be Samsung’s answer to the rumored iPad 3 that is said to offer a high-res, retina display.
