Should You Wait for the new OS to Buy a New Tablet PC?

They say the best things in life are free.  For one thing, a new operating system may not necessarily be a “good” thing, but usually with time (and many bug fix), the latest and greatest usually pays off.  So when  the release of a new OS is around the corner, consumers will often shy away from a new computer purchase in fear that an upgrade will be both costly and difficult.  Well we are happy to report that this does not seem to be the case with Tablet PC’s.  The new Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2004 codenamed “Lonestar” is expected to be available later this year, but ready for this?  The download from Mircrosoft is expected to be free!  Even better yet, this update for current users is also expected to be small (around the 10MB mark for the major features) and the update will be user removeable.  This feature is certainly welcomed since some users may prefer the original configuration.

So back to the original question.  Should you wait to buy?  I say that provided you make a wise choice by investing in a model with up to date hardware specs. (i.e. Intel Pentium 4 or M processor, integrated Wi-Fi, etc.), then go for it.  Your new Tablet will be able to handle the new OS with ease.  Best of all the update will be free!
